{"id":595,"date":"2009-11-22T16:09:37","date_gmt":"2009-11-22T14:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persofoto.com\/?page_id=595"},"modified":"2016-05-24T12:58:08","modified_gmt":"2016-05-24T11:58:08","slug":"how-do-i-make-a-biometric-baby-photo","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.persofoto.com\/lexicon\/passport\/how-do-i-make-a-biometric-baby-photo\/","title":{"rendered":"Taking a Biometric Baby Photo"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>How Do Children&#8217;s Photos Differ From Adult Photos?<\/h2>\n<p>The requirements for a photo submitted with an application for a child&#8217;s or baby&#8217;s passport are largely the same as for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.persofoto.com\/lexicon\/passport-photo\/biometric-passport-photo\/\">adult passport<\/a>, although some allowances are made for the age of the subject &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Babies can be supported by a hand, but the hand must not be seen in the submitted photo<\/li>\n<li>No dummies or toys must be in the picture<\/li>\n<li>Children under 6 do not need a neutral expression<\/li>\n<li>Babies under 1 do not need their eyes open<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All other requirements, such as the size of the head within the picture and using a plain background must be adhered to.<\/p>\n<p>Although most babies cope surprisingly well with camera flash, you may only get one or two chances before the novelty wears off. Because of this, a large room with plenty of natural light makes the best environment for taking photos of babies and very young children.<\/p>\n<p>If it is impractical to support the baby&#8217;s head from behind &#8211; remembering that the hand cannot be visible in the finished photo &#8211; it may help to lie the baby down on a flat white or cream surface and take the photo from above.
